A few weeks ago, Horst Janson suffered a stroke, and now the TV star is said to be in a Munich hospital again. The 88-year-old suffered a brain hemorrhage after falling down the stairs.
Actor Horst Janson is said to have fallen down the stairs in his house in the Munich district of Grünwald at the beginning of August. This is reported by the “Bild” newspaper. According to reports, the 88-year-old broke his wrist, among other things. In hospital, he was diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage, which fortunately could be treated immediately.
According to “Bild” information, the 88-year-old is now doing better, but “not yet well”. Janson's wife Helgardt Hella Ruthardt, with whom he has been married for 42 years, is said to be at his side. The couple have two grown-up daughters.
Stroke a few weeks ago
Janson's health was already a cause for concern in June. Ruthhardt revealed in an interview with the magazine “Freizeit Revue” that her husband had recently suffered a stroke. “When he came into the house, he suddenly couldn't speak anymore,” the 76-year-old recalls.
She then called the emergency doctor and the 88-year-old was put on life support at the hospital. “If his vital signs weren't so good, it could have been worse,” said Ruthardt, relieved, in an interview with the magazine.
At the age of 88, Janson, who has been an integral part of the German acting scene since the 70s and 80s thanks to roles in series such as “Der Bastian” and “Salto Mortale” and who won the hearts of young fans as “Horst” in “Sesame Street”, is still on stage. He had to cancel his planned appearance at the Bad Hersfeld Festival in July due to his stroke.
