Actress Halle Berry shows the courage to transform in the film “Never Let Go”. Especially when it comes to her hair. In addition to a new hair color, the Oscar winner also shows off lush armpit hair.
In July, Halle Berry lounged almost naked on Instagram and celebrated the 20th anniversary of her film “Catwoman” so sexy. Now the 58-year-old shows her followers completely transformed. For her role in the thriller “Never Let Go,” Berry demonstrated the courage to make a drastic change in personality. In it, the actress plays Momma, who has retreated to a remote cabin in the forest with her twin sons Samuel and Nolan and is increasingly becoming wild. On her Instagram account, Berry shared a glimpse of the transformation into Momma – including fake armpit hair.
“Momma in the making,” she writes about some photos and clips on Instagram and, among other things, shows with obvious joy the impressive bush of armpit hair that she wears in her role. In the accompanying video, Berry jokes with makeup artist Norma Patton-Lowin. “So, what's going on here, Norma? What did you do? What did you do, Norma?” asks the Oscar winner with mock horror as she looks at her XL armpit hair in the mirror. An indication that Berry's bush under her arm didn't grow naturally, but was glued on for the shoot.
But Patton-Lowin has also done a great job and transformed the 58-year-old into a completely different woman with the help of corrected eyebrows, realistic-looking tattoos and, among other things, a short blonde hair wig. “Thank you, Halle, for letting me push you to your limits for your figure! I had a lot of fun working with you and creating Momma,” the makeup artist commented on Berry's post. The actress herself raves that Momma is one of “the most complex characters I've ever had the pleasure of embodying.”
Berry ate raw frogs
In April, Halle Berry spoke about the film at CinemaCon and revealed that she had to use “a little bit of method acting” to get into the role. She said at the time that her character in the horror film “ate beetles and frogs – raw frogs – in the forest” and that she “had to properly skin a squirrel.” This represented a “tremendous challenge” for her.
However, animals are not said to have been harmed: According to People, the animal protection organization PETA confirmed that director Alexandre Aja only used realistic-looking props in the production.
“Never Let Go” was released in cinemas a few days ago. In it, the people still alive after an apocalypse fight for their survival day after day. Momma has set strict rules for herself and her children so that they can survive in the forest. But at some point one of the boys no longer believes the warnings, which has dire consequences.
