In a country where there are more guns than people, many citizens long for security. This is also a business in the USA.
Tesla's Cybertruck, which has already been praised as “bulletproof,” looks like a vehicle for the post-apocalypse. But tuners still find a lot of potential for improvement even in equipment that has already been optimized for the fight for survival, as a recently introduced conversion called Sting shows. It was developed by the US company Archimedes Defense together with the Tesla-specialized tuner Unplugged Performance.
The two partners have upgraded the Sting so that it can also cope in areas without infrastructure. Thanks to the Starlink satellite reception technology, the martial vehicle always remains connected to the Internet.
Also on board is a power generator that can handle several types of fuel and can charge the traction battery with up to 125 kW. Customers can also get an off-road package developed by Unplugged Performance, which will even be expanded to include an amphibious package in the future.
Three protection levels to choose from
The Sting's passenger compartment can also be armored. There are three levels of protection to choose from. Even if the neighbors switch from small-caliber guns to assault or machine guns or even lay mines, the pickup monster should offer its occupants protection thanks to the additional steel and ceramic plates.
Archimedes Defense has chosen an interesting time to present the Sting. In November, presidential elections will be held in the USA. The mood between the two camps that are likely to win the election is tense. Hardly anyone there would be surprised if the losing camp's anger were to erupt in violence.
Archimedes Defense also offers the fortress on wheels for sale to private individuals.
