The traditional agricultural machinery brand Kaweco is being discontinued. The reason: The Dutch company Royal Reesink is withdrawing from production.
The Dutch conglomerate Royal Reesink has announced that it will discontinue its traditional Kaweco brand at the end of the year. Kaweco is a manufacturer of chaff transport wagons, slurry tankers and farm loaders. The brand was launched in 1963. After December 31, 2024, all activities at the Hengelo production site (near Enschede) will be ended.
According to the Dutch specialist media “Trekker”, the employees were informed about the decision on Monday. Royal Reesink has been trying to find a buyer for the “Reesink Production” division for months. However, the search has so far been unsuccessful.
According to Royal Reesink, the production facility for Kaweco machines is not profitable enough. The company has now shifted its focus to the distribution and sale of agricultural and construction machinery – the production of such equipment is no longer the focus, it is said.
Royal Reesink is a Dutch conglomerate whose origins date back to 1786. He is based in Apeldoorn in Gelderland. Royal Reesink consists of around 40 individual companies on four continents – with a total of 2,500 employees.
