Tiffany Haddish is arrested for allegedly falling asleep at the wheel of her car on Beverly Drive. The comedian was already picked up by the police in January 2022 for a similar incident. She joked about it at the time.
Actress and comedian Tiffany Haddish was arrested early Friday morning (local time) in Beverly Hills on suspicion of driving under the influence. This was announced by the Beverly Hills Police Department, according to CNN. Police received a call at 5:45 a.m. and the 43-year-old was taken into custody shortly afterwards, a police spokesman confirmed to the station. Haddish was reported to have performed at the Laugh Factory comedy club’s Thanksgiving bash in West Hollywood on Thursday night.
The actress was not involved in any accidents but is said to have fallen asleep at the wheel. As TMZ reports, police were told during the call that a person had stopped on Beverly Drive and was leaning over the steering wheel while the car’s engine was running. Haddish will now apparently be charged with drunk driving.
“I need to improve my requests to God”
The comedian has previously been arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and improper stopping on the road. She was apprehended in Georgia by Peachtree City police officers in the early morning of January 14, 2022. According to People magazine, officers received an emergency call around 2:30 a.m. about a driver who had allegedly fallen asleep at the wheel on Highway 74.
On the way there, officers spotted a car matching the description of the 911 call and made a traffic stop. “The subsequent investigation resulted in Ms. Tiffany Haddish being arrested for driving under the influence,” police told the magazine. As CNN reported, shortly after the Georgia incident, Haddish quipped in an interview with Jimmy Fallon: “I can say, Jimmy, I prayed to God to send me a new man, a good man. And God gave me four in one a uniform. I didn’t expect it.” She has a really great lawyer with whom she will settle the matter. “I need to improve my requests to God,” Haddish added at the time.
