After just three days, Cora Schumacher threw in the towel in the jungle camp – but she had done quite well up to that point. Your reasons? Unclear, the IBES community is left at a loss. A day later we know more.
Cora Schumacher sees her voluntary departure from the RTL jungle camp as a major personal defeat. The 47-year-old model said on the reality show “I'm a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!” on Monday evening, now she has reached the point where she has to admit that “my dream is bursting at this point.” Then she said the crucial sentence “I'm a star – get me out of here!”.
According to camp doctor Dr. Bob not fit enough for the show: “The desire to go grew in her head.” Most recently, during the twelfth season in 2017, candidates voluntarily left the show. At that time it was soccer player Ansgar Brinkmann and model Giuliana Farfalla.
At the camp, Schumacher complained that the smoke from the campfire was bothering her. “I want to go home. I can't take it anymore. I can't do it anymore with the smoke, everything is burning. I can't go anymore. I want to get out of here now. Now, now, now! Now!” She didn't let her campmates dissuade her from her decision.
There had already been speculation about health reasons for the exit after Schumacher, like fellow inmate Heinz Hoenig, was banned from the Saturday jungle test. According to a report in the “Bild” newspaper, the consequences of a herniated disc in the cervical spine may have been the reason for the rest.
Moderator Sonja Zietlow announced Schumacher's departure at the end of the program broadcast on Sunday evening – and left the jungle fans perplexed. Zietlow himself was also surprised. “I thought she actually did well,” was her assessment. As the “Bild” newspaper reported, Schumacher spent the time after moving out of the camp in a secret hotel, where she was sealed off from the public.
