Esther Sedlaczek has good to do – not only as a sports presenter, but also as a host of shows such as “quiz duel” or “ask the mouse”. Soon she will soon be asked privately: the 39-year-old is pregnant.
Whether professionally or private – it runs at Esther Sedlaczek. After the “Sportschau” presenter only extended her contract with ARD a few weeks ago, she now makes her new pregnancy public.
On Tuesday, on the edge of the DFB Cup quarter-final between Stuttgart and Augsburg, there was already whispered under the white winter sweater about their visible tummy-also because of a chat that she led with co-moderator Bastian Schweinsteiger.
“It has just become dad,” said Sedlaczek after an interview with Stuttgart striker Ermedin Demirović. Schweinsteiger promptly indicated the colleague's belly. Sedlaczek did not answer that clearly, but in a variety of ways: “It takes me a bit, Basti.”
The child comes in summer
Now, however, Sedlaczek gave up the complete confirmation to the “Bild” newspaper. “Yes, I'm pregnant,” she said there. And further: “I'm totally happy, the time has come in summer. There is no reason – and yes, no chance – to hide something. We get a boy.”
For Sedlaczek and her husband, a Munich businessman, it is already the third child. The couple, who said yes in 2019, already has a daughter born in 2019 and a son who was born in 2021.
Sedlaczek, born in East Berlin, has been used as a moderator in the sports area for around 15 years. In addition to the moderation of major football events, her previous career highlights also include the Olympic Games and the European Championships 2022. Outside of sport, she is also in programs such as “Quizduell” or “Ask the mouse” in front of the Camera.
