More and more caravaning brands are expanding their model pallets with motorhomes with the Mercedes Sprinter as the basic vehicle. Obviously, no one shy away from the high price level, as the debutants prove for the new season.

With the introduction of the third generation, the Mercedes Sprinter has continuously increased its popularity as a basic vehicle for motorhomes. A planned scenario, because with the Erwin Hymer Group one of the Big Player from the Caravaning scene was already integrated into the development phase of the Stuttgart van. Success is not reflected in increasing quantities, but also in a steadily growing distribution.

New brands always absorb the sprinter in their portfolio. Even entry -level brands and cheap providers such as Weinsberg or Pössl do not shy away from the significantly higher price level. Because below the magical 100,000 euro mark, the “marketing prices” of the basic models with the many nine are at best.

The advantages of the premium transporter include the modern, car-related cockpit with comfort seats and the highly acclaimed MBUX multimedia system with very good speech recognition and smartphone integration as well as the choice between front wheel, rear wheel and all-wheel drive. The availability of the all-wheel drive version recently caused another thrust.

A development that continues, as the Stuttgart leisure fair CMT has proven again. Here are five new Sprinter motorhomes for the upcoming season.

Laika Kreos L5007 MB

The first attempt by the Italian manufacturer Laika with the Mercedes Sprinter as the basis was luckless. As a compact part -integrated Kosmo 2009, he did not fit into the price structure and was stopped again in 2020 after only one year of construction. The second attempt in the new Kreos L5007 has better chances of success. After all, this is the manufacturer's top-integrated top series from Tuscany. Hymer Grand Canyon S Xperience

By far most models based on a sprinter has development partners Hymer in its program. Four alone are now with the camper vans after the edition model Grand Canyon S Xperience has been freshly added. Pössl Roadstar X

Castle car specialist Pössl is known for its camper vans with a favorable price-performance ratio, but mostly on a stellis basis. The Roadstar X as the first Pössl model with a sprinter base seems to be a prize with a price of 98,990 euros and more to adapt to the competition.

But appearance is deceptive.
