The Seat Arona has been on the market since the end of 2017; The technical brother of the VW T-Cross and Skoda Kamiq is one of the bestsellers of the Spanish VW subsidiary. TÜV knows what the quality of the small crossover is like.

So far, the Seat Arona has left a good impression in the TÜV general inspections. Its defect rates are below the average of all vehicles tested. But he is not entirely without fault. The TÜV inspectors criticize the high level of wear on the brake discs and steering joints. However, the axle suspension and axle springs are unremarkable. The exhaust system and oil loss check points also don't cause any problems.

Like its relatives, the 4.14 meter long Seat Arona is based on the A0 variant of the modular transverse matrix, which is specially designed for small cars. Its body shape is reminiscent of an SUV – but without appearing particularly bulky. There is no all-wheel drive. The space in the five-door car is quite decent, and the driver is happy about a slightly raised seat.

The trunk volume is 400 liters. If you fold down the rear seat backs, up to 1280 liters can fit in the luggage compartment.

Equipment and security

As is typical for small cars, the basic version “Reference” is only suitable for those who are willing to go without. Air conditioning and infotainment systems are only on board from the “Style” version onwards. The “Xcellence” comfort level has, among other things, a 17-inch model, two-tone paint, automatic climate control and ambient lighting on board. “FR” focuses on sportiness and offers sports seats.
