Two German companies can be found among the ten most valuable brands in the world. Not much has changed at the top.

Apple is still the most valuable brand in the world. Although the company's value fell for the first time in over 20 years, at $488.9 billion, Apple remains at the top of the annual ranking of the brand consultancy Interbrand.

In second and third place, Microsoft and Amazon follow at a considerable distance with a value of 352.5 billion and 298.1 billion US dollars.

Two German companies are also in the top positions. Despite a slight loss of four percent, Mercedes-Benz is in eighth place. BMW gains two percent and is in tenth place. The German car manufacturers Porsche in 43rd place (17.4 billion US dollars), Audi in 45th place (17.3 billion US dollars) and Volkswagen in 49th place (16.5 billion US dollars) also make it into the top 50.

But it's not just car manufacturers from Germany that are represented. SAP recorded an increase of eleven percent and moved up to 20th place (36.8 billion US dollars). Allianz reached 29th place with an increase of 13 percent (23.5 billion US dollars). Siemens climbs into the top 50 with an increase of nine percent (15.8 billion US dollars).

Ferrari achieved the largest increase of all companies. The Italian car manufacturer increases its value by 21 percent and is now in 62nd place with 13.1 billion US dollars. Intel is suffering major losses in value, its value falling by 30 percent. Tesla is also a loser. The value of Elon Musk's company fell by nine percent and is still in twelfth place at $45.5 billion.
